CCMN 2020 for NIT M.Sc. Admissions: Counselling & Application Process, Important Dates and Eligibility Criteria

CCMN 2020: Overview, Important Dates & Eligibility Criteria
The CCMN (Centralized Counselling for
M.Sc./ M.Sc. Tech admissions to NITs and CFTIs) will start conducting the counselling
process for the candidates who will qualify IIT JAM 2020 examination for admission in M.Sc.
programmes of 20 NITs and 2 CFTIs.

CCMN Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria to participate in the
counselling process. The guidelines of eligibility for CCMN 2020 are mentioned
below-
- Candidates must have secured 60 % minimum (General) and 55 % minimum (SC/ST/PwD) marks in the qualifying degree examination.
- Candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) category must have their valid certificates in hand while attending CCMN 2020.
- Candidates from reserved category will get an age relaxation of maximum five years.
- The eligibility criteria will be specific for different subjects. Candidates must remember to check the eligibility for the subject of their choice

CCMN 2020 Application Process
Once a candidate
finds himself/herself eligible for the counselling process, they can start the
application process by following these steps-
- The application form of CCMN 2020 will be available in online mode from the fourth week of April 2020.
- While filling the application form candidates must make sure to fill out correctly the choices and institution based on which the counselling procedures are conducted.
- All the documents mentioned must be uploaded without any fail.
- Candidates should pay the application fee of Rs 2000/- as their application will not be considered until the payment procedure is completed.
CCMN Choice Filling Process 2020
To complete the registration, one must
complete the choice filling process of CCMN 2020. These are some of the main
points to remember while filling the choices –
- While filling the choice filling candidates are provided with the eligible choices as per the data entered by the candidates during the registration process.
- Candidate must make sure to give the maximum number of choices in his/her own order of preference.
- The choices can be rearranged at any time before locking the same.
- A candidate is not allowed to proceed for payment and further registration process if ‘no’ choices are available for the data provided at the time of registration.
- The allotment is done as per the choice filled by the candidate. So, candidates must make sure they put the choices accordingly.
- If candidates do not lock their choices by the last date for choice locking, the last saved choices will be automatically locked. Candidates are advised to lock their choices themselves.
Counselling Procedure for CCMN 2020
After completion
of the application process and
release of the cuff off marks based on the scores
of the candidates who will appear for JAM 2020, the CCMN will start the rounds
of counselling for seat allotment in NITs and CFTIs.
There will be three rounds of
counselling and after that, a national spot round will be conducted where
candidates who have surrendered their seats or haven't paid counselling
participation or confirmation fee will be considered eligible for NSR round of CCMN 2020 Counselling. Those candidates who have not
registered themselves for CCMN 2020 can also participate in the National spot
round of CCMN.
